Patching

I found one of Janie's babies faithfully patching away. Do you think this counts for double time?

Okay, I had to put a silly picture up so I wouldn't feel so glum. Lucy's cataract eye is lagging behind. {Sigh} It's not A LOT, just an octave. It's actually called an octave. That is, Lucy could decipher a certain interval of finer detail with the strong eye. In this case, an octave. Maybe it's just a fluke. Then again, maybe it will lag more next time... or less.

In any case, it's on to patching for six hours a day on into November. {Sigh} I shouldn't feel sad. She's happy and healthy and spirited. Just wasn't really what I expected. Maybe it will be fodder for something extraordinary.

I like that "fodder for something extraordinary". It is hard to remember that we don't know what is best. (I know I like to think I do!). I will keep praying God will heal her eye, but also that he will make her a strong woman of God through this.

And yes indeedy, Hap Burthdee to You!

I had to laugh out loud at that picture. Evidently it isn't all about Lucy. I mean look at that dollie hahaha. And then too I look at myself going to God one more time, seeking what I call and answer. Answer--that is a hard one to define. It's probably right in my face but too big to see.

Keep your head up, Bethany! You are such a strong and wonderful mother...you'll all make it through this time and look back at it a few years with a smile.

I love Cerissa's comments - both of them! Wishing you a Happy Birthday, dear friend! Your kiddos are blessed to have such an awesome momma - they're learning volumes from observing your faithfulness throughout this situation!

Children are so much stronger than we can ever grasp, that's what makes them sooooo special. Luckily she has an amazing mom and dad to get her through. Happy Birthday Bethany, I read the other comments. Hope you have an awesome and blessed day :)

Aww - sorry you're disappointed. I know how that feels. Clara had to wear a helmet for much of her babyhood to straighten out her lopsided noggin. She was fine - giggly and happy and busy. I just kept thinking "look at all the spots on her sweet head I can't kiss with that dumb helmet on!"

Peace, sister. Peace and joy to you and your sweeties.

How many times in our lives do we encounter the "it's not what I expected" syndrome? Sometimes daily for me! It's not fun, but yet everytime I find myself saying that, I just know that it means God's plan is not complete. And the hope and anticpation of knowing that there's a bigger picture, that someone else is watching over me is comforting. I love ya, girl! Hope you had a great b-day!

There's nothign that gives as much joy as being a mom. . . and nothing that gives such an ache to our hearts, either. I think that's how God feels about us, too.
